I just got Samantha yesterday and she has already touched my heart. When I tore open that box with a present from grandma, not the sweater and shirt, not Disney Scene It?, not the Webkinz stuff, and not even a snowboard was as good as my beautiful doll. I also got her coat. Anyway, I read her story earlier and it was so touching. I'm hoping that Nellie shows up under our tree Christmas morning.
Why are you retiring Sam? She is one of the best dolls and I can't stand to see her go. She touched me, she touched others in the past, and she should stay and touch other girls in the future.

The end.

I remember when I got Samantha on Chirstmas Day. I was so
excited."I got Samantha," I shouted. Then I took her upstairs and
showed her my just like you doll,Sharon. I found my inner star
in Samantha.

I remeber getting my first American Girl doll, Samantha, when I was 7 years old for Christmas from my Grandparents. They said one of the reasons they got it for me was because she looked like me. I've had tea parties, fashion shows, I played school with her, I even took her to the ice skating rink and taught her how to ice skate. I've had some of the best times with Samantha and she holds a special place in my heart. I wish that she wasn't retiring, so more and more girls can be touched by the magic of Samantha. I thank my grandparents very much for giving me one of the best Christmas gifts ever; the gift of a friend.

I have 5 American Girl dolls, ...

I have 5 American Girl dolls, but Samantha is my all time favorite! I got her on my 5th birthday and I get more of her accessories every bithday since then. My grandma and I always act out her stories with Samantha and this summer I had the wonderful experiance of being able to go to The American Girl Place in New York. Of course, I brought Samantha. We spent 2 amazing days exploring the factory and buying as many things as my mom could afford. I can say that I am very disapointed to hear that Samantha won't be continued, but I do understand that her departure will allow more dolls to come to American Girl. Thank you for bringing her to American Girl in the first place!
Love,
Lexie

One night on June 3,2008 which June 3, is my birtrhday, I saw a box with my name on it. It was 12:00 midnight and I opened it up. I saw Samantha and I ran into my parents room screaming"Look what I got"! My parents(Frances and Mike) were happy to see that I loved her but mad that I couldn't wait to open her on my birthday!
Goodbye Samantha Parkington,
