Sam is my best friend ever. I ...

Sam is my best friend ever. I got her on Christmas 2006. Alot of people say me and Samantha look-a-like. I do to. One thing I don't like is when my dog tries to bite her, so I have to put her somewere she won't get her. This will be the second year I had Sam. I have most of her stuff, but not the bed. My coison got the bed ( she's 18 ) and the gold part of it turns black over time. So I'm getting another bed for her. Me and Sam went through alot. But we are still BEST FREINDS FOREVER!!! ( love ya Sam ).

I can remember looking at Sama...

I can remember looking at Samantha in the American Girl catalog when I was a little girl in the late 1980's. I liked her the best of the three dolls and wanted her more than anything. But I knew that my parents couldn't afford to buy her for me. So I saved all the money I could from babysitting and chores for over two years. Finally, I had saved enough to order her. The two weeks I waited for her to arrive felt longer than the years I had spend saving. It was a hot August day when Samantha finally arrived. She was my favorite companion for many years and we had many adventures together. I look forward to passing her on to my own daughter some day. Bonne voyage, Samantha!

I will miss Samantha and Nelli...

I will miss Samantha and Nellie sooo much! They have been a true inspiration to girls and American Girl, too. Everyone will miss them and we'd hate to see them go! Bye Sam and Nellie! We will miss you!

The first time I saw Samantha ...

The first time I saw Samantha I knew she was the one! She looked so pretty and exactly like me. I said I want Samantha. Now, just a few months later I found her in my haert. In just that few months we have had lots of cool and wild adventures. The first one was when we were at a baseball game and the ball kept hitting the fence she thought they were wild. Another one was when we fell down the escalator, boy that was scary but we survived! During these cool and scary adventures I have found that we have become close friends. I wish we could have seen more of her but at least I have her to cherish always. I'm nine and I still love her.

I got my Samantha doll ten yea...

I got my Samantha doll ten years ago. It was the Christmas after I turned 10 and I'll never forget it. It was back before Matell took over and it was still just the Pleasant Co. She was perfect and I was so excited.

For the next few years I would do everything with her. I got dresses and accessories for my birthday. When I was learning to sew my Mom helped me make her some outfits. I took her with when I went to the American Girl Place in Chicago.

I read all of her books and was captivated by her stories. They began what became a true love of history. I'm now in college working my way towards a BA in History. I truly believe it all started with Samantha.

It saddens me that she's being retired. After my years of playing with her, I know what joy she brought. Now girls won't have access to that anymore- it breaks my heart.

I went to the American Girl St...

I went to the American Girl Store in New York City with my Girl Scout troop. We saw movies on the way there and I decided then to get Samantha. I have read most of her books and I now have Samantha and Nelly. They are my favorite American Girl Dolls. Those are the only historic character dolls that I have. I will miss them. I hope they will come back in a few years.

I got my Samantha doll last Ch...

I got my Samantha doll last Christmas and love her more than anything. I always wanted my own doll and when I found American Girl, I saw Samantha's face and fell in love with her at once. Samantha is so pretty that I had to have her. Now I have a bed for her and I dress her up and brush her long, brown hair. I take Samantha every place I can and put her in strollers and walk her through the house.Samantha means more than anything to me.Please don't retire Samantha! Think of all the kids who love Samantha and have one Christmas to get her or collect her clothes, furniture and accessories! It fells stressful. PLEASE don't retire my dear Samantha!!! She means more than anthing to me.

Sam and Nellie were my first A...

Sam and Nellie were my first American Girl dolls and I remember when I first got them. On Christmas Day 2004 I woke up sad because my great grandmother died about 2 weeks before Christmas and so I thought that she didn't get me any presents because she was gone. Then there were 2 perfectly wrapped boxes that were the same size. I asked who they were from and my grandma said they were from your great grandmother so i started to get excited. So I opened one of the boxes and inside was Samantha her perfect curly brown hair tied back in a ponytail. I got so excited. Next I opened the other box and inside was Nellie her short blonde hair so perfect. I loved them right from the start. I now have a lot of American Girls but out of them all Sam and Nellie are my favorites. Sam and Nellie you have been with me through so much it pains me to see you guys go you guys are the best

I can remember the first mome...

I can remember the first moment I saw Samantha. My little sister had ordered American Girl magazines and I was instantly obsessed with them. Right now I have the Elizabeth Cole doll. My little sister got Samantha last Christmas. Elizabeth and Samantha became instant friends ( even though they were 130 years apart ). They go shopping together and have sleepovers every night. When we heard that Samantha was retiring we were so sad. My sister actually started crying and so did my sisters friend who has Felicity Merriman. They said that it wasn't fair and decided to try to find out why. That is when we found this website. I am just as devastated as my sister is about this news. Samantha is just as dear to me as my Elizabeth. I really hope that the people at American Girl rethink this decision that they are making with Samantha. It is making so many people sad. I will miss Samantha so much as will my sister. Not seeing her pretty little face in the AG magazines will just break our hearts. Please don't retire Samantha!
